Errors Due to Harmonic Distortion and Noise

چکیده
t AbstractLeast-squares' sine-fit algorithms are used extensively in signal-processing applications. The parameter estimates produced by such algorithms are subject to both random and systematic errors when the record of input samples consists of a fundamental sine wave corrupted by harmonic distortion or noise. The errors occur because, in general, such sine-fits will incorporate a portion of the harmonic distortion or noise into their estimate of the fundamental. Bounds are developed for these errors for least-squares four-parameter (amplitude, frequency, phase, and offset) sine-fit algorithms. The errors are functions of the number of periods in the record, the number of samples in the record, the harmonic order, and fundamental and harmonic amplitudes and phases. The bounds do not apply to cases in which harmonic components become aIiased.

Output-Conductance Transition-Free Method for Improving Radio-Frequency Linearity of SOI MOSFET Circuits
In this article, a novel concept is introduced to improve the radio frequency (RF) linearity of partially-depleted (PD) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) MOSFET circuits. The transition due to the non-zero body resistance (RBody) in output conductance of PD SOI devices leads to linearity degradation. A relation for RBody is defined to eliminate the transition and a method to obtain transition-free c...
متن کاملDesign and Implementation of a Kalman Filter-Based Time-Varying Harmonics Analyzer
Nowadays with increasing use of numerous nonlinear loads, voltage and current harmonics in power systems are one of the most important problems power engineers encounter. Many of these nonlinear loads, because of their dynamic natures, inject time-varying harmonics into power system. Common techniques applied for harmonics measurement and assessment such as FFT have significant errors in presen...
متن کاملA Novel 36-pulse rectifier with low kVA rate to reduce harmonic input current distortion
The increase in the number of pulses in multipulse rectifiers leads to a reduction in harmonic current distortion. But this increase in the number of pulses leads to an increase in kVA, cost, and complexity of the multi-pulse rectifiers. As a result, in industrial applications, 12-pulse rectifiers are mainly used due to their lightweight, simple transformers, and low kVA rate, and low cost. The...
متن کاملRobust and accurate fundamental frequency estimation based on dominant harmonic components.
This paper presents a new method for robust and accurate fundamental frequency (F0) estimation in the presence of background noise and spectral distortion. Degree of dominance and dominance spectrum are defined based on instantaneous frequencies. The degree of dominance allows one to evaluate the magnitude of individual harmonic components of the speech signals relative to background noise whil...

Gamma-ray detection has an important role in the enhancement the nuclear safety and provides a proper environment for applications of nuclear radiation. To reduce the risk of exposure, aerial gamma survey is commonly used as an advantage of the distance between the detection system and the radiation sources. One of the most important issues in aerial gamma survey is the detection noise. Various...
